The Indiana Esports Network, commonly known as IEN, is a statewide, educator-led nonprofit organization that operates scholastic esports competition for schools across Indiana.
IEN is run by volunteer educators and serves public, private, and parochial schools. The organization says its network includes more than 150 Indiana school districts and supports approximately 15 competitive games. Its programs include three high school enrollment divisions, middle school competition, and unified esports competition organized in conjunction with Special Olympics Indiana.
The network organizes regular seasons, playoffs, tournaments, state championship events, and training and support for coaches building school esports programs. Participation is currently provided at no cost to students, schools, or districts.
IEN’s mission is to prepare students for the future through collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking through video games and esports. The organization emphasizes student development, inclusivity, fair competition, positive gaming communities, and opportunities for students who may not participate in traditional athletics or other extracurricular activities.
IEN also works with education, technology, recruiting, and esports partners to connect students with academic guidance, collegiate programs, scholarships, career development, and other opportunities beyond competition.
